And they ask you, [O Muhammad], about Dhul-Qarnayn. Say, "I will recite to you about him a report." 83 Surely We established him in the land and granted him means of access to every thing. 84 Then he followed a way. 85 until when he reached the very limits where the sun sets, he saw it setting in dark turbid waters; and nearby he met a people. We said: "O Dhu al-Qarnayn, you have the power to punish or to treat them with kindness." 86 He said: "As for him (a disbeliever in the Oneness of Allah) who does wrong, we shall punish him; and then he will be brought back unto his Lord; Who will punish him with a terrible torment (Hell). 87 And as for him who believes and does good, he shall have goodly reward, and We will speak to him an easy word of Our command. 88 He travelled again 89 Until when he reached the land of the rising of the sun, he found it rising on a people to whom We had given no shelter from It; 90 So it is; and Our knowledge encompasses all that he possessed. 91 Thereafter he followed a way. 92 Until, when he reached [a pass] between two mountains, he found beside them a people who could hardly understand [his] speech. 93 They said: O Zulqarnain! surely Gog and Magog make mischief in the land. Shall we then pay you a tribute on condition that you should raise a barrier between us and them 94 He replied: 'That which my Lord has given me is better, therefore help me with all your power, and I will build a barrier between you and between them. 95 Bring me ingots of iron!' Until, when he had made all level between the two cliffs, he said, 'Blow!' Until, when he had made it a fire, he said, 'Bring me, that I may pour molten brass on it.' 96 So they were not able to scale it nor could they make a hole in it. 97 and he said, "This is a mercy from my Lord. But when the promise of my Lord comes to pass, He will level it to dust. My Lord's promise is ever true!" 98 ۞ On that day, We will let them surge on one another, and the Horn shall be blown, and We will gather them all together. 99 We will fully expose the view of hell on that Day to the disbelievers, 100 Whose eyes were veiled against My warning, and they could not hear. 101
