۞ We had earlier given Abraham true direction, for We knew him well. 51 Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: what are these images to which ye are cleaving? 52 They replied: "We found our fathers worshipping them." 53 He said: assuredly ye, ye and your fathers, have been in error manifest. 54 They exclaimed, "Have you brought the Truth or are you joking?" 55 He said: "In fact it was your Lord, the Lord of the heavens and the earth, who created them; and I bear witness to this. 56 And [I swear] by Allah, I will surely plan against your idols after you have turned and gone away." 57 Then he broke them all into pieces, sparing only the supreme one among them that they may possibly return to him. 58 They said: Who hath done this to our gods? Surely it must be some evil-doer. 59 Some said, "We heard a young man, called Abraham, talking about them." 60 They said, "Then bring him before the eyes of the people, that they may bear witness." 61 They said, "Abraham, was it you who did this to our deities?" 62 He said, "Rather, this - the largest of them - did it, so ask them, if they should [be able to] speak." 63 So they turned towards their own selves and (inwardly) said, “Indeed you yourselves are unjust.” 64 But then they relapsed into their former way of thinking and said: "Thou knowest very well that these [idols] cannot speak!" 65 He said: What! do you then serve besides Allah what brings you not any benefit at all, nor does it harm you? 66 Fie upon you and upon all that you worship beside Allah. Do you have no sense?" 67 They said, “Burn him and help your Gods, if you want to.” 68 We said: O fire! be a comfort and peace to Ibrahim; 69 Then they sought a stratagem against him: but We made them the ones that lost most! 70 And We rescued him and Lut towards the land which We have blessed for the entire world. 71 And We bestowed upon him Ishaque (Isaac), and (a grandson) Ya'qub (Jacob). Each one We made righteous. 72 And We made them chiefs who guide by Our command, and We inspired in them the doing of good deeds and the right establishment of worship and the giving of alms, and they were worshippers of Us (alone). 73 And to Lot We gave judgement and knowledge, and We saved him from the city that was committing wicked deeds. Indeed, they were a people of evil, defiantly disobedient. 74 whereas him We admitted unto Our grace: for, behold, he was among the righteous. 75

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
