The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!" 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
