The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 When Shu'aib (Shuaib) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)? 177 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 179 And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 Weigh on an even balance. 182 And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption. 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They said, "You are no more than a bewitched and insane man 185 thou art naught but a mortal, like us; indeed, we think that thou art one of the liars. 186 Then make fragments of the heaven fall upon us, if thou art of the truthful. 187 He said, 'My Lord knows very well what you are doing.' 188 And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day. 189 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 190 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
