And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 upon thy heart, [O Muhammad] so that thou mayest be among those who preach 194 In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. 195 And indeed it is mentioned in the earlier Books. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 If We had revealed it to a nonArab, 198 who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not. 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 and thereupon that [chastisement] which they were promised befalls them 206 That which they were made to enjoy shall not avail them? 207 Never a city We destroyed, but it had warners 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 They are not worthy of it, nor have they power. 211 Indeed they are debarred from even hearing it. 212 So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished. 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers. 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 And your turning over and over among those who prostrate themselves before Allah. 219 He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 Do you not see that in every valley they roam 225 And that they say what they do not do. 226 Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned. 227
