Noah called to Us, and We are the Best to answer. 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 And We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And We left for him among the posterity. 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said to his father (paternal uncle) and his people, “What do you worship?” 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 The people invited him to attend their feast). Then he looked at the stars 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 Whereas Allah hath created you and that which ye make? 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. 98 He said: 'I will go to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 Peace be on Ibrahim. 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 and We blessed him and Isaac, and from their offspring are some gooddoers, and others who clearly wronged themselves. 113
