And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What do you think about the Lord of the Universe?" 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire. 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And he said: verily I am going to my Lord who will guide me. 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when he became capable of working with him, Ibrahim said, “O my son, I dreamt that I am sacrificing you – therefore now consider what is your opinion”; he said, “O my father! Do what you are commanded! Allah willing, you will soon find me patiently enduring!” 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 So We ransomed him for a great sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the posterity: 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants – some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
