And certainly We conferred a favor on Musa and Haroun. 114 and We saved them with their nation from a great distress. 115 and We helped them, so that they were victorious; 116 and We gave them the Book which helps to make things clear; 117 And We guided them both on the right way. 118 and preserved for them a good name among posterity. 119 'Peace be upon Moses and Aaron' 120 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 121 truly they were among Our faithful servants. 122 And indeed, Elias was from among the messengers, 123 When he said to his people: "Will you not fear Allah? 124 What! do you call upon Ba'l and forsake the best of the creators, 125 Allah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers? 126 But they denied him, so they surely will be haled forth (to the doom) 127 But not the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 128 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 129 "Peace be upon Elijah and his followers!" 130 It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good: 131 Verily he was one of Our bondmen believing. 132 Lot too was one of the Envoys; 133 [So mention] when We saved him and his family, all, 134 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind; 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 And lo! ye verily pass by (the ruin of) them in the morning 137 and night: will you not take heed? 138

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
