And remember Our servant Job, when he called to his Lord, "Indeed, Satan has touched me with hardship and torment." 41 (We answered his prayer, healed his sickness, and told him), "Run on your feet. This is cool water (for you) to wash and drink". 42 We restored his family to him, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder to all who are endowed with insight. 43 "And take in your hand a bundle of thin grass and strike therewith (your wife), and break not your oath. Truly! We found him patient. How excellent (a) slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)! 44 And remember thou Our bondmen, Ibrahim and Is-haq and Ya'qub, owners of might and insight. 45 We distinguished them for the distinct remembrance of the abode (of the Hereafter). 46 In Our sight they are among the chosen and excellent ones. 47 Recall Ismael, Elisha, and Dhulkifl (Ezekiel) who were all virtuous people. 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 the Gardens of Eden whose gates shall be open to them, 50 Reclining therein, calling therein for many fruits and drink. 51 ۞ and with them maidens restraining their glances of equal age. 52 This is what you are promised for the day of reckoning. 53 This is Our provision for you, never to end. 54 All of this; but, for the proud there is an ill return. 55 Hell, in which they will burn. How vile a resting place! 56 all this will be theirs; let them taste it -- a scalding, dark, foul fluid, 57 and other such torments. 58 This is an army plunging in without consideration along with you; no welcome for them, surely they shall enter fire. 59 They shall say: Nay! you-- no welcome to you: you did proffer it to us, so evil is the resting-place. 60 They say, 'Our Lord, whoso forwarded this for us, give him a double chastisement in the Fire!' 61 And they will say: "What has happened to us that we see not men whom we used to number among the bad ones? 62 "Did we treat them (as such) in ridicule, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" 63 Truly that is just and fitting,- the mutual recriminations of the People of the Fire! 64
