Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 CONSIDER this divine writ, clear in itself and clearly showing the truth: 2 behold, We have caused it to be a discourse in the Arabic tongue, so that you might encompass it with your reason. 3 And surely it is in the original of the Book with Us, truly elevated, full of wisdom. 4 Shall We then (warn you not and) take away the Reminder (this Quran) from you, because you are a people Musrifun 5 And how many a Prophet have We sent amongst the men of old. 6 no Prophet came to them except that they mocked him, 7 We therefore destroyed the people who were more forceful than these, and the example of the earlier ones has already gone by. 8 And if thou (Muhammad) ask them: Who created the heavens and the earth, they will surely answer: The Mighty, the Knower created them; 9 He it is Who made this earth for you a cradle and made in it pathways for you that you may find the way to your destination; 10 And Who sendeth down water from the sky in (due) measure, and We revive a dead land therewith. Even so will ye be brought forth; 11 And, (it is He) who has created all the pairs and appointed for you ships and the cattle on which you ride, 12 so that when you are mounted upon them you may remember the bounty of your Lord, and say: “Glory be to Him Who has subjected this to Us whereas we did not have the strength to subdue it. 13 And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return! 14 But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful. 15
