۞ And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, immediately your people laughed aloud. 57 And they say, "Are our gods best, or he?" This they set forth to thee, only by way of disputation: yea, they are a contentious people. 58 Jesus was a servant of Ours to whom We had granted favors and whom We made as an example for the Israelites. 59 Had We wanted, We could have made the angels as your successors on the earth. 60 It is knowledge of the Hour; doubt not concerning it, and follow me. This is a straight path. 61 And let not Shaitan (Satan) hinder you (from the right religion, i.e. Islamic Monotheism), Verily, he (Satan) to you is a plain enemy. 62 And when 'Iesa (Jesus) came with (Our) clear Proofs, he said: "I have come to you with Al-Hikmah (Prophethood), and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) in which you differ, therefore fear Allah and obey me, 63 Allah is my Lord and your Lord; therefore, serve Him. That is the Straight Way.” 64 But the factions differed among themselves. Woe alas to the sinners for the torment of the grievous Day! 65 Await they aught save the Hour, that it shall come upon them suddenly, when they know not? 66 On that Day, friends will become each other's enemies, except the righteous -- 67
