We verily created man and We know what his soul whispereth to him, and We are nearer to him than his jugular vein. 16 (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions). 17 He does not utter a single word, without a ready recorder seated next to him. 18 And when the agony of death comes in truth (they will say): 'This is what you have been trying to avoid' 19 And the Trumpet shall be blown: that will be the Day whereof Warning (had been given). 20 Every soul will be accompanied (by an angel) behind him and another as a witness. 21 “You were indeed neglectful of this, so We have removed the veil for you, and your eyesight is sharp this day.” 22 His companion will say: "Here is (the record) I have ready with me." 23 Do cast into hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 who is an opponent of good, a suspicious transgressor 25 “The one who appointed another God along with Allah – so both of you fling him into the severe punishment.” 26 ۞ His companion will say: Our Lord! I did not lead him into inordinacy but he himself was in a great error. 27 He will say: Do not quarrel in My presence, and indeed I gave you the threatening beforehand: 28 and My word shall not be changed, nor am I unjust to My servants." 29
