Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
