Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
