The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the mount. 1 and a Book inscribed 2 on unrolled parchment, 3 And [by] the frequented House 4 and the uplifted roof 5 And [by] the sea filled [with fire], 6 Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;- 7 Of it there is no preventer. 8 The day the sky will tremble, 9 And the mountains will fly hither and thither. 10 Woe on that Day to those who deny the truth, 11 Those who in wading sport themselves. 12 The day on which they shall be driven away to the fire of hell with violence. 13 "This is the Fire which you used to deny. 14 “So is this magic, or are you unable to see?” 15 Roast in it, bear it with or without patience, it is the same, you are only being recompensed for that which you used to do' 16 Those who fear God and follow the straight path will surely be in gardens and in bliss, 17 Rejoicing in that which their Lord hath vouchsafed unto them; and their Lord will protect them from the torment of the Flame. 18 "Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for your good deeds," 19 They will recline (with ease) on Thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes. 20 And those who believe and whose progeny follow them in belief. We shall cause their progeny to join them, and We shall not diminish unto them aught of their own work. Every man is for that which he hath earned a pledge. 21 And We aided them with fruit and meat, whatever they desire. 22 There they pass from hand to hand a cup wherein is neither vanity nor cause of sin. 23 ۞ Youths as fair as hidden pearls will be set apart to wait upon them; they will be running to and fro to serve them. 24 They will turn to one another and ask (regarding the past events). 25 "Before this, when we were among our families, we were full of fear of God's displeasure -- 26 but Allah has been gracious to us and has protected us from the punishment of the burning wind. 27 "Verily, We used to invoke Him (Alone and none else) before. Verily, He is Al-Barr (the Most Subtle, Kind, Courteous, and Generous), the Most Merciful." 28
