The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 has created man, 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
