The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 has created man, 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
