The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created man. 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
