The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise and warn! 2 And your Lord (Allah) magnify! 3 purify your garments; 4 And uncleanliness avoid 5 And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase, 6 But for your Lord be patient. 7 For when the trumpet is sounded, 8 That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- 9 For the unbelievers, anything but easy. 10 LEAVE Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 And then bestowed upon him ample means, 12 And gave him sons present before him. 13 And made things easy for them. 14 Then he desires that I should add more. 15 Nay! He is forward unto Our signs; 16 Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities! 17 Verily, he thought and plotted; 18 So accursed be he, how evilly did he decide! 19 Again, death seize him, how he determined! 20 He then dared to lift his gaze. 21 Then he frowned and scowled; 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 And said: This is naught else than magic from of old; 24 This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" 25 Soon I will cast him into hell. 26 What do you think Hell-fire is? 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 It strips away the hide of man. 29 Over it are nineteen (guards). 30 We have appointed only angels to be masters of the Fire, and their number We have appointed only as a trial for the unbelievers, that those who were given the Book may have certainty, and that those who believe may increase in belief, and that those who were given the Book and those who believe may not be in-doubt, and that those in whose hearts there is sickness, and the unbelievers, may say, 'What did God intend by this as a similitude?' So God leads astray whomsoever He will, and He guides whomsoever He will; and none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but a Reminder to mortals. 31
