By the moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 A warning to mortals, 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 As they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
