Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 A warning for people -- 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 except the people of the right hand 39 who will be in Paradise 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 like frightened donkeys 50 running away from a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
