Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 separating one from another, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what day is it timed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a known term? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
