In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 For a known term? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
