Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 excusing or warning, 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a known extent. 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
