The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
