The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 then he mustered 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
