The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and gently take it away; 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
