The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what sin she was killed 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 that hide, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
