The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
