The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
