The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
