The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
