The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
