Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? 7 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. 8 Rather, you belied the Recompense. 9 Verify there are for you guardians, 10 Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds): 11 Knowing all what you may do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 (It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another: For the command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
