Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 when the planets are scattered, 2 And when the seas are made to flow forth, 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 in whatever form He pleased? 8 No indeed; (the fact is that) you deny the Reckoning, declaring it a lie; 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 Honourablel scribes. 11 They know whatever you do. 12 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure, 13 And most surely the wicked are in burning fire, 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 and from which they will find no escape. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Again, what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
