The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
