The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
