Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 And cups put in place 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
