Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 in a garden sublime, 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 And chosen goblets. 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created? 17 And the heaven how it has been raised? 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
