Then, when the Messengers (the angels) came unto the family of Lout (Lot). 61 he said, "You seem to be strangers". 62 They said, 'Nay, but we have brought thee that concerning which they were doubting. 63 And we have come to you with the truth, and we are most surely truthful. 64 So set out with your family in a watch of the night, and keep yourself behind them, and no one of you may turn around, and keep going ahead as you have been commanded." 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning. 66 In the meantime the people of the city came to Lot rejoicing. 67 He said: Lo! they are my guests. Affront me not! 68 And fear Allah and do not disgrace me." 69 They said, 'Have we not forbidden thee all beings?' 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 By your life! they were blindly wandering on in their intoxication. 72 So the shriek seized them at sunrise. 73 We turned the town upside down and rained upon them stones of clay. 74 Verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 75 it is still there on the highway -- 76 Verily there is a Sign in this for the believers. 77 The dwellers of the Wood (near Midian) were also wicked. 78 We therefore took revenge from them; and indeed both these townships are situated on an open road. 79
