And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people - 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah?" 11 He said: My Lord! Lo! I fear that they will deny me, 12 And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron. 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they shall slay me. 14 He said: by no means. So go ye twain with Our signs; verily We shall be with you listening. 15 Go to Pharaoh, both of you, and say, 'We are messengers from the Lord of the Worlds: 16 Let the children of Israel go with us!'" 17 (Firon) said: Did we not bring you up as a child among us, and you tarried among us for (many) years of your life? 18 Yet you committed the deed you did, surely you are one of the ingrates." 19 He said: I did it then when I was mistaken. 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him). 21 "And this is the past favour with which you reproach me, that you have enslaved the Children of Israel." 22 Firon said: And what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 He said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between, if ye seek to be convinced. 24 (Pharaoh) said unto those around him: Hear ye not? 25 [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers." 26 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Verily, your Messenger who has been sent to you is a madman!" 27 He said: Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them, if ye did but understand. 28 (Pharaoh) said: If thou choosest a god other than me, I assuredly shall place thee among the prisoners. 29 Moses said: "Even if I were to bring a Clear Sign to you?" 30 The Pharaoh replied, "Bring it, if you are telling the truth." 31 So (Moses) threw his rod, and behold, it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)! 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
