[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 Then We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
