The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said, "If you do not desist, Lot, you will surely be banished." 167 He said, 'Truly I am a detester of what you do. 168 "My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do." 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 Then We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful. 175
