The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said, "If you do not desist, Lot, you will surely be banished." 167 He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. 168 My Lord! Save me and my household from what they do. 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
