Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
A. L. M. 1 Those are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 As guidance and mercy for the doers of good 3 who establish the prayer, pay the obligatory charity, and firmly believe in the Everlasting Life. 4 It is they who are on true guidance from their Lord, and it is they who shall prosper. 5 And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e. music, singing, etc.) to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and takes it (the Path of Allah, the Verses of the Quran) by way of mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment (in the Hell-fire). 6 When Our Signs are rehearsed to such a one, he turns away in arrogance, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in both his ears: announce to him a grievous Penalty. 7 The righteously striving believers will enter Paradise 8 They shall abide in them forever. This is Allah's promise that shall come true. He is the Most Powerful, the Most Wise. 9 He created the heavens without any pillars visible to you and He placed mountains in the earth as pegs lest it should turn topsy turvy with you, and He dispersed all kinds of animals over the earth, and sent down water from the sky causing all kinds of excellent plants to grow on it. 10 this is God's creation. Show me then what those besides Him have created! The wrongdoers are in manifest error. 11
