The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I swear by those who draw themselves out in ranks 1 And by oath of those who herd with a stern warning. 2 and those who recite Our revelations, 3 your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the sun's risings. 5 He decked the nearest heavens with ornaments of stars, 6 and have protected it from every rebellious satan. 7 They cannot listen to the Highest Chiefs for they are pelted from every side, 8 driven away, and will suffer eternal punishment. 9 Except such as snatch away something by stealth, and they are pursued by a flaming fire, of piercing brightness. 10 Ask them thou: are they stronger in structure or those others whom We have created? Verily We! We have created them of a sticky clay. 11 Nay, but thou dost marvel when they mock 12 And, when they are admonished, pay no heed,- 13 And whenever they see a sign, they mock at it. 14 And they say: this Qur'an is naught but magic manifest. 15 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, how can we be raised again, 16 And also our forefathers? 17 Say thou: and verily ye; shall then be despicable. 18 It will be but one Shout, then see, they are watching 19 They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense." 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
