3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart; 84 Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: What is it that ye worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 And said, "I am sick," 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased. 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 whereupon We gave him the glad tiding of a boy-child gentle [like himself]? 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 And We left for him among the posterity: 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
