The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
O YOU ENFOLDED in your mantle (of reform), 1 Arise and warn! 2 And thy Lord do thou magnify! 3 And your garments do purify, 4 And pollution shun. 5 do not bestow a favour in the expectation of receiving more in return; 6 And for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 Surely that day will be a day of anguish, 9 and for the disbelievers, in particular, it will not be at all easy. 10 Leave Me with the one I created alone 11 and to whom I have granted resources vast, 12 and sons to be by his side, 13 And made several preparations for him. 14 Yet he desires that I should give more. 15 By no means; he is stubbornly opposed to Our Signs. 16 I will cover him with arduous torment. 17 Indeed he thought, and inwardly decided. 18 and thus he destroys himself, the way he meditates: 19 yea, he destroys himself, the way he meditates! 20 He then dared to lift his gaze. 21 Then frowned he and showed displeasure. 22 and in the end he turns his back [on Our message,] and glories in his arrogance, 23 and said: “This (Qur'an) is merely a sorcery of yore; 24 This is nothing but the word of mortal man!" 25 I shall make him suffer the torment of hell. 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It neither spares, nor releases, 28 It scorches the mortal. 29 Over it are nineteen [powers]. 30 We have not appointed any one but angels as keepers of Hell, and their number that We have fixed is to make it a means of contention for disbelievers, so that those who were given the Book may be certain, and the faith of the believers may have greater increase, and the people of the Book and believers may not be deceived, and the sceptics and infidels may say: "What does God mean by this parable?" That is how God leads whosoever He will astray, and guides whosoever He will. None knows the armies of your Lord save Him self. This is no more than reminder for mankind. 31

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
