Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
