Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
